Cafe owners ban money that comes from ‘bras or underpants’

IF YOU tend to store loose change in your sports bra, or perhaps the elastic waist of your underpants — please don’t drop in for a coffee at this cafe, because you won’t be served.

The ‘Fascine Coffee Lounge’ in the small WA town of Carnarvon has gone viral, after it’s sign seeking clean change was posted online.

Reading ‘We do not accept $$$ from bras or underpants,’ the owner of the cafe was sick and tired of being paid with sweaty notes and clammy coins, so decided to take action.

“We had four or five people that did it. A lot of women think their bra is the best place for their money because they don’t have pockets,” Cafe owner Robin Weeks told The West Australian.

Despite most people changing their ways and complying with the signage, some customers disagreed with the new rules.

“Some people said they would take their money out of their bras before they got here,” Mr Weeks said.

Although the sign worked at first, Robin admitted that patrons had caught on and were removing coins and notes from said areas before they entered the cafe.

“We did keep the sign up for about two months, but then people just caught on that they could take their money out of their bras before they came in,” he toldABC North West.

Robin revealed that women were the main culprits, but had also witnessed men pulling notes from their jocks.
