Free lunch shows off what the area has to offer before Liverpool Council unveils new city brand
THE Liverpool food truck is showcasing the area’s best dishes for free in the city this week.
Liverpool’s first food truck is part of a series of events the council has planned to unveil its new city brand next Saturday, after more than 10 years.
Ten Liverpool restaurants, cafes, bakeries and cake shops filled the food truck yesterday at Martin Place and will continue there today and tomorrow.
Mayor Ned Mannoun said from 11am to 2pm “lunch is on Liverpool”.
All people need to do is share their experience using the hashtag #TheGreatSouthW.
The council’s acting chief executive Kiersten Fishburn said it was time to rebrand and reinvigorate the region to boost business, investment and jobs.
“The rebrand includes two new logos: the great South West brand represents the city and the region of Liverpool; and the council brand of Liverpool Council,” Ms Fishburn said.
“The Great South West brand will raise the profile of the region and the city, and position Liverpool as the economic and cultural centre of Sydney’s South West.
“We will use the brand to highlight the great assets of our region including our people and our city.
“Council has been preparing for the new council brand ... Elements of the new brand are being used in council publications, so it will be a smooth and low-cost transition.”
