Machete wielding bandits still on the run after Hunter valley Hotel attack

The Hunter Valley Hotel was recently the scene of a violent robbery involving two-armed men with a machete.

Police released CCTV footage of the incident, showing two armed men in dark clothing. The men confronted patrons just after midnight on September 30 last year, with a 48-year-old man falling victim to one of the machete wielding criminals, when he was struck in the arm and required surgery.

The video comes almost 12 months after police were called to the Cessnock Road hotel.

The men can be seen emptying the cash registers and jumping over the bar.

They are still on the run, having come away with bags of cash.

The State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Rubus is looking into the incident.

A dark coloured hatchback was also caught on camera.

Anyone with information on the robbery should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
