NSW & ACT Best Restaurants, Cafes & Caterers Crowned

Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) today announced the winners of the 2020 NSW/ACT Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence. The Awards for Excellence program formally recognises hospitality operators across a broad range of categories who consistently provide exceptional service and demonstrate culinary excellence in their respective fields.

Restaurant & Catering (R&CA) CEO Wes Lambert congratulated each of the winners on behalf of the Association, recognising their significant contributions to the hospitality sector across NSW & ACT.

“The NSW/ACT Awards for Excellence is one of the most important nights in the state’s hospitality calendar. It is always such an amazing experience to recognise some of the state’s finest hospitality businesses who showcase the very best our industry has to offer”, Mr Lambert said.

“This year's winners include household names such as Tetsuya’s, winner of the Sydney Restaurant of the Year, The Tea Room QVB who won Sydney Casual Dining of the Year and Luna Park Sydney who won Sydney Caterer of the Year”.

“Other categories this year include the Consumer Vote award, Chef and Apprentice Chef of the year as well as swathes of awards for Regional NSW and ACT businesses. Each category represents some of the best and most unique food and dining on offer across the great state of NSW and the ACT.

NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres, who attended the awards ceremony on behalf of the NSW Government, stated it was fantastic to see the broader hospitality industry coming together after such a challenging year.

“There is no doubt that the NSW hospitality industry has had a very tough year in 2020, which is why the NSW Government has been tremendously focused on supporting this iconic industry through relaxing restrictions, ongoing business grants and support and the nation leading Dine & Discover Voucher Program”.

“We are tremendously lucky to have so many absolute gems in the hospitality sector spanning the width and breadth of the Premier State. After suffering so much this year, it is incredible to be able to bring the industry together for such an iconic night", R&CA CEO Wes Lambert said.
