Bridge Hotel Mordialloc sells after almost four decades under Doyle family

The Doyle family have sold the Bridge Hotel Mordialloc after 37 years of ownership.

Peter Doyle leased the Bridge Hotel from Carlton United Breweries in 1984, before purchasing the freehold in 1991.

The hotel has a long history and is said to be the oldest building in the area with records dating back to 1853.

The public bar building was built in 1870, and in recent times the pub has been a popular for bands, including Men at Work in the early 1980s.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, daughter Anna Beaton said it was the right time to sell the hotel following the death of her mother in January.

“It will be very emotional and we’ve had our reasons, but we’ve had a wonderful time here though,” she said.
