Andre Ursini closes the restaurant launched off his MasterChef appearance
MasterChef alumni Andre Ursini has closed the restaurant he launched off the back of his appearance on the hit TV show.
Ursini came seventh on the show’s inaugural series in 2009, launching his Adelaide restaurant Cucina & Polenta Bar the same year.
But Cucina & Polenta Bar served its last meal on December 28.
Speaking to The Advertiser, Ursini said he will focus on two other Adelaide restaurants, Orso in Rose Park and Villetta Porcini in Mylor.
“It’s an evolution of my career,” Ursini said. “The feeling of closing the doors successfully is something to be proud of.”
Ursini opened Cucina & Polenta Bar without the help of any business partners, with the popular eaterie scooping The Advertiser Food Award for Best Italian in 2014.
