Highfield Caringbah, the new pub for Sydney’s South

South Sydney has a new venue established in the old Caringbah Bizzos Club.

The Highfield Caringbah is now up and running after the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority granted a full hotel licence to Feros Hotel Group for the venue.

The Sutherland Shire had already given its approval.

It is open from 10am to midnight from Monday to Saturday and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.

It is the area’s first "vertical pub".

The venue offers up a bevy of themes and dining options, all under one roof.

The Feros Group, which has also built the new Kirrawee hotel, The Prince, have created a venue built around the success of US style sports bar Ugly Pizza and Huxley's Sports Bar.

The two venues remain on the ground floor at the MacKay street site.

Add to that the new venues The Public House and The Botanical opening up too.

The hotel will operate separately from the Ugly Pizza, Huxley’s and the other venues but the plan is to turn it all into a hospitality precinct for South Sydney.

So what the precinct will offer will be Ugly pumping out its New York-style pizzas for dine in or takeaway.

Huxley's will be giving patrons a taste of the USA, offering up diner staples – burgers, hot dogs, mac'n'cheese.

And they can get stuck into that while watching all those American sports playing on dozens of TVs.

And for those wanting Aussie pub traditions, there’s The Public House on the middle floor.

The offering there is everything you’ll find in an Australian pub: a TAB, domestic and craft beers on tap, and a menu featuring good old schnitzel and steaks.

Then there is the rooftop hangout for anyone wanting a touch of elegance in the evening.

A dedicated cocktail bar, a living green wall and food prepared on a Japanese-style Robata grill and views of the city skyline are on offer at the Botanical.
