Tanunda accommodation properties recognised
Two of Tanunda’s tourism properties have been recognised in the Gold List of Best South Australian Accommodation.
Blickinstal Barossa Valley Retreat and Goat Square Cottages are in the top ten hosted accommodation properties in South Australia.
Powered by millions of past guest reviews from 100s of websites around the world, the inaugural Star Ratings Gold List of Australian accommodation features these two long-standing Barossa bed and breakfast (BnB) properties.
The Star Ratings Gold List celebrates only those properties who continue to voluntarily hold themselves to independent quality standards and who almost always exceed their guests’ expectations.
The Star Ratings Gold List is based on aggregated guest reviews from more than 100 websites in 45 different languages.
Blickinstal Barossa Valley Retreat is one of the longest operating BnB properties in the Barossa. Established in the late 1970s this outstanding property has a long term reputation as being one of the best in the region.
Goat Square Cottages is located right in the centre of the heritage heart of Tanunda and has been providing tourist accommodation for more than 25 years.
The three and a half star rated Goat Square Cottages was selected as one of South Australia’s best hosted accommodation cottage operators.
Goat Square Cottages has been consistently rated at three and a half stars for the past 11 years. The original 1856 expansive house has been divided into three cottages – each named after those who had the greatest impact on early Tanunda – Flaxman, Menge and Kavel.
The cottages are managed and hosted on a day to day basis by local identity, Mrs Ngaire Ingham. It is her friendly smile that greets guests on arrival and she ensures that they have the best stay possible in the Barossa Valley. The solid 8.8 out of 10 ongoing review score reflects the care and attention that Ngaire puts into Goat Square Cottages.
“It’s always a pleasure managing these gorgeous cottages and meeting the lovely people who are interested in the heritage and history of the Barossa Valley,” Ngaire said.
According to Star Ratings Australia, travellers plan their holidays carefully and visit between 20-40 websites before they book. That’s why the Star Ratings Gold List is unique because it draws online reviews from multiple sites, not just one.
Owner of Blickinstal Barossa Valley Retreat, Mrs Sue Schiller said, “From the opinions of those who have actually stayed at our property to more than 200 criteria that are used to determine an official Star Rating; our future guests can trust that we will do everything we can to exceed their expectations.”
Blickinstal Barossa Valley Retreat, rated four stars, has been operated by Sue and Mark Schiller and family for 11 years. Sue has a renowned reputation for her welcoming afternoon teas and scrumptious breakfasts served in the homestead.
