The Winestate South African Wine Experience 2014

The aim of this event is to bring the amazing range and quality of South African wines to what is one of the world's most dynamic wine markets - Australia and South East Asia. From our research and feedback there is very little knowledge of South African wines in this market and the opportunity has arisen to educate the trade buyers! It is also an opportunity to show how far South African wines have improved in the last two decades.

Winestate will be conducting a judging and promotion of South African wines at the Perth Hyatt Regency the week of 28 - 31 January 2014. The event will be organised by Winestate and chaired by leading SA wine critic,  Michael Fridjhon. All wines will be judged blind by a panel of three expert senior judges, audited by Winestate CEO Peter Simic. Once scores are confirmed that final rating will be published in the Winestate May 2014 issue.

This judging will be followed by a trade and public / subscriber tasting on the evening of Saturday 1 February. Anticipated numbers are between 500-1000 guests.

Following the judging results (positive recommendations only) will be conveyed to our trade distribution list and to Wines of South Africa for dissemination. Wineries will receive their results about this time as well.

Winestate will publish a special feature (all issues print and digital) in our May/June 2014 issue.

ONLY POSITIVE RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN ALL ISSUES.

There is an opportunity for trade buyers to have a preview tasting of over 150 wines from South Africa commencing at 5pm on Saturday 1 February 2014. Location is the Hyatt Regency, Perth WA.
