Barista Blend Latte Art Video Challenge

The Almond Breeze Latte Art Video Challenge™ (LAVC) is now open for entries in Australia and New Zealand! This is the first time Almond Breeze has attempted to recreate the success of its Breezey Masters events in the online world.

The LAVC will allow Australian and New Zealand baristas to go head to head with the best in the business from Japan, South Africa and the UK for the chance to be included into the final of Breezey Masters, held this year in Melbourne.

So how does it work?

Baristas submit their best latte art videos on the Almond Breeze Latte Art Video Challenge website. Each week two video entries from each of the participating territories, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the United Kingdom and South Africa, will be selected and these videos will be pitted against each other vying for votes from their peers and customers to win the weekly cash prize of $500! Votes will be gathered across Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook. The six baristas who receive the most votes go through to the Finals (with prizes of $1000, $750 and another $500 up for grabs) and the opportunity to win a place in the Breezey Masters 2018 final.

The Latte Art Video Challenge, which began in South Africa in 2017, will run alongside Almond Breeze’s Breezey Masters events that are currently happening throughout May, June, July, August and September in Australia. The new online element of the Breezey Masters programme gives all baristas up and down the country the chance to participate in Breezey Masters 2018 and win.

The Breezey Masters, which is in its third year, is a top class latte art competition that lets baristas showcase their skills using Almond Breeze almond milk. The competing baristas are required to make four different patterns and a free pour - a heart, tulip, rosetta, swan and a free pour design. The baristas are judged on the quality of their designs, with the added pressure of completing their drinks within a set time period.

Blue Diamond’s Almond Breeze and Almond Breeze Barista Blend manager for Australia and New Zealand, Michael McNulty, is excited about the growth of Almond Breeze Barista Blend and has seen first hand how the Breezey Masters creates such a buzz in the café channel due to real barista engagement.
