Traditional club grub has been ditched in a multimillion dollar makeover of North Sydney Leagues
A multimillion dollar upgrade has transformed North Sydney Leagues Club into a foodie haven — and there’s not a plate of bangers and mash to be seen.
“We’ve moved away from the traditional style of food people would normally associate with a club,” chief executive Luke Simmons said.
“There’s no more grabbing a schnitzel and chips from the bistro. The bistro is dead.”
The $3.5 million renovation started in October and the finishing touches are expected to be completed by September.
With the space still looking like a scene from The Block on Tuesday, it is going to be all hands on deck so the dining precinct can open to the public this Saturday.

The 51-year-old Cammeray club will then be home to a cafe, wine bar and The Pantry, where share plates, charcuterie platters and cheese boards reign supreme.
The chefs have been hand-picked with some hailing from Longrain, Wildfire and The Grounds of Alexandria.
The decor will be modern, fresh and, once the greenery is added, will feel as though the outdoors have been brought inside.
