Another tower for Melbourne

an57-1-DN-Southbank apartmentsA 61-storey skyscraper expected to house around 600 residents has been approved for Melbourne's Southbank by Victorian planning minister Matthew Guy.

The 193m apartment tower will also have recreational facilities, a gym, barbecue area, café, restaurant and retail spaces.

Senior associate and project manager Eugene Chieng with architect firm Hayball, that designed the tower, said it was designed to meet planning controls for the area.
Construction on the tower is likely to begin next year, with completion expected in 2017.
