C-Inc on track to give $1m to the children

Yesterday (17th October) the iconic Coogee Bay Hotel hosted the 17th instalment of its Annual Golf Day, raising a record amount for the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Chris Cheung and a flotilla of liquor and hospitality heavyweights chased the infernal white ball around 18 holes at the spectacular and wind-swept Bonnie Doon course, on a wild pre-summer’s day.

After the match, the weary players retired to the 19th for a celebratory lunch and charity auction to aid the hospital, with C-Inc eyeing its target of $1 million raised in five years.

The aspirations were close to their target than most of the golf shots in semi-cyclonic winds and relentless temperatures north of thirty degrees, with a final total of $196,945 raised and earmarked for the SCH.

Mike Whitney again hosted the post-game activities, which included entertainment, raffles, silent and live auctions, door prizes and a three-course lunch at the exclusive fully private club.

Long-time supporter of the event, Lion's Doug May, told TheShout he is proud to be part of such a good cause.

“Having been involved in this event from day one, it is a credit to Chris Cheung and his team to see how the event has evolved from the amateur beginnings to a professional and much anticipated event on the calendar each year," said May.

Key sponsors donated cash and prizes to the cause, including TheShout’s sister publication Australian Hotelier, putting up an advertising package snapped up by South Australia’s Vale Ale.
