Clubs Australia Congratulates the Albanese Labor Government
Clubs Australia congratulates Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Australian Labor Party on being re-elected to Government.
The Association also extends its congratulations to all newly elected Members of Parliament from across the country and looks forward to working with them over the next three years on issues that matter to not-for-profit clubs and the local communities they support.
Clubs play an important role in Australian life — providing local jobs, supporting grassroots sport, hosting community events, and delivering safe and affordable hospitality to millions of members.
Clubs Australia welcomed the Government’s recent announcements to freeze the excise on draught beer for two years — a practical measure that will assist clubs in managing costs, provide some cost-of-living relief for patrons, and support ongoing investment in their venues.
“We look forward to continuing our engagement with the Government and all members of the new Parliament to ensure community clubs remain strong, sustainable and well positioned to support Australians into the future,” said Clubs Australia Executive Director Rebecca Riant.
