Cheeky billboard brings attention to yet-to-open Korean BBQ restaurant

A billboard put up by a Korean BBQ restaurant in Melbourne suburb Caroline Springs is already bringing attention to the yet-to-open venue.

Chingu Korean BBQ erected a billboard at the front of the store that read:

“Hey Sophia, you broke up with me because I was poor.”

“Now I have money to open a Korean BBQ, are you regretting it now?”

The billboard has gone viral on social media, with Redditors in particular wanting to know the backstory. Some, however, feel it is a clever marketing ploy.

“Revenge is a dish best served barbecued,” one Redditor joked.

“I don’t think Sophia will be able to see that from her new boyfriend’s yacht,” stated another.

The billboard has other businesses involved, with Gotham Doughnuts responding with a sign of its own: “Yo, Korean BBQ, don’t worry about Sophia”.

“We have all the dessert you need right here!”

The owner of Chingu Korean BBQ is currently overseas, but no doubt there’ll be a line outside the door when the restaurant opens its doors for the first time.

A Chingu Korean BBQ already exists in Melbourne suburb Sunshine.
