A North Adelaide restaurant was targeted by two arsonists who caused a fire costing around $100,000 in damage.

Police are hunting two hooded suspects they suspect of the molotov cocktail attack.

Fire crews were called to Ammos Greek Bistro in the early hours of Monday morning. Witnesses say they saw the two hooded men take off in a silver hatchback.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.

Fortunately, no one was injured and the fire damage was limited to the kitchen area. The glass door on Ward St, was also smashed.

Owners Savvas and Sotiri Vassiliou declined to comment. The 25-year-old twins watched on helplessly as police began investigations.

A nearby business owner and friend said, “They’re still young, that (the media presence) js too much for them.”

CCTV footage  (yet to be released) shows two people in masks throwing at least two molotov cocktails through the glass door.

The fire department acted quickly to extinguish the blaze.

“On arrival 15 firefighters from five appliances and a command vehicle attended a restaurant where they found the ground floor involved in fire,” an MFS spokesperson said.

“Firefighters worked immediately to contain the fire within five minutes, taking approximately 15 minutes to extinguish the blade.

“With a quick response of the MFS firefighters they were able to contain the fire on the ground floor, preventing any further damage to the first floor of the building and the neighbouring businesses.
