Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey was booted out of a high-end Australian restaurant after staff told him they needed the table back.

Ramsay was dining at the upmarket Serai in Melbourne and had overstayed his welcome when he was asked to move in.

While the situation could have become tense, Ramsey was happy the restaurant acted in its own best interests.

The 57-year-old father of six, told the The Sydney Morning Herald “I f***ing loved that I got the order to move on.

“They needed the table back, and rightly so. It didn’t matter that I was f***ing Gordon Ramsay.”

Ramsay, who owns his own high-end restaurants including the River Restaurant in the Savoy, said he loved the dining experience at Serai, including the incredible food.
To appease the chef, the restaurant offered his meal for free, but Ramsay would have none of it.

“They said the meal was on them, and I wasn’t having that either. I told them I wanted the bill and was adamant about it, and I didn’t leave until I got it and paid.”

Ramsay was in Australia to film the first season of Food Stars.

The new series, coming soon to Channel 9 and 9Now, will see Ramsay team up with Aussie business legend Janine Allis to mentor and guide competing teams.
