Malvern apartment development gets its own pub
A restored pub will anchor the $234 million Malvern Collective development, with residents able to order rook service to their new home.
The Angel Tavern located on the ground floor will get a refurbishment by Techne Architects, who recently oversaw the new look Esplanade hotel in St Kilda. Part of the new design includes an atrium with a retractable glass roof and 6m-tall trees inside it.
Other features of the residential development include a rooftop pool and barbecue space, as well as a private theatre, spa, sauna and private dining room.
“We are building the development in such a way so you will play where you live, and the local pub is the cornerstone of this community,” said Kokoda Property managing director Mark Stevens.
Construction of the 266-unit complex starts later this year and should end in 2021.
