Construction for new hotel in Hurstville set to begin

Ground has been broken on Hurstville’s first hotel, as Club Central is set to begin excavation work on its $60 million project to expand Club Central Hurstville in Sydney.

Club president Brian Cloney and CEO Paul Richardson joined club staff to break first ground on the site ahead of the start of major earthworks that will see a new 124-room hotel and a function centre built as part of Club Central Hurstville’s $45 million refurbishment and expansion.

Brian Cloney told the St George & Sutherland Shire Leader that it marked a major milestone in the Clubs expansion and construction of the hotel and rooftop restaurant.

“Our members have already been telling us that they are excited about the Club expansion and Hurstville’s first hotel,” he said.

“We’ve received some encouraging feedback from members about the prospect of a new family-friendly bistro as well as expanded gaming, lounge and function spaces.

“The rooftop restaurant is also proving to be a talking point as a unique new space to enjoy in the heart of Hurstville.”
