Sexual-assault charges dropped against Mario Batali
Sexual-assault cases against celebrity chef Mario Batali have been dropped by the New York City Police Department.
The two cases involved one woman who filed a police report last year claiming Batali raped her in his Babbo restaurant in 2004. Speaking to 60 Minutes, another woman said that Batali sexually assaulted her in 2005.
However, investigators reportedly could not find enough evidence to make an arrest.
The fifty-eight-year-old chef owns restaurants across the country and most recently was co-hosting “The Chew” on ABC. He came under scrutiny last year following claims by four women that he “touched them inappropriately in a pattern of behaviour that appears to span at least two decades."
He has denied all the allegations.
