The Bells toll for Arthur Laundy with purchase of Wooloomooloo pub

Publican Arthur Laundy has bought The Bells Hotel in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo for an estimated $15 million.

Laundy already owns the nearby Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel, which he purchased from the Medich family for $20 million, among his 20 properties across NSW.

"The family has loved the 45 years at Bells and while it is the end of an era for us we are happy to sell to Arthur, a long time local publican, who we are sure will only be an asset to further develop the potential of our much-loved pub" said Erin Peterson on behalf of the Miles family, owners of The Bells Hotel.

Laundy is currently in the midst of a $10 million renovation of his Woolwich Pier Hotel and is building a pub at Homebush on the corner of Murray Rose Avenue and Olympic Boulevard.
