Fremantle’s first rooftop bar to open at National Hotel

Fremantle’s the National Hotel is to open the city’s first rooftop bar as part of the $7 million transformation of the heritage-listed hotel.

The hotel has long and chequered history since its founding in 1887, with murder and fires all part of its folklore.

Karl Bullers, part owner of the Carnegie’s Group which owns the hotel, told PerthNow he was “sucked in by its history and by its importance to Fremantle”.

“So this has driven our work over the last five years,” he said. “We wanted to give the hotel the fit-out it deserved. And I think the 360-degree views of Fremantle will astound locals and visitors.”

The National Hotel’s redevelopment has also added 12 luxury hotel rooms.
