A new Ramada resort for Batemans Bay

Batemans Bay will have its first resort in five years with Wyndham Hotel Group announcing its first resort on the New South Wales South Coast.

Construction work is set to begin in the third quarter of 2018 and plans are for the resort to open late next year.

Nikias Diamond Property Developments Pty Ltd is the company behind the $26 million development creating the 84-room resort which will be  constructed across the road from Corrigans Beach Reserve, giving guests sweeping ocean and parkland views.

The  Ramada Batemans Bay resort will have an outdoor pool, restaurant and bar.

It will also offer a range of services including free WiFi.

Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim President and managing director, Barry Robinson, is enthusiastic about the development.

“We are seeing increased interest from Australian developers for globally renowned brands like Ramada and others offered by Wyndham Hotel Group, which are both well supported and ideally positioned to meet the emerging needs of today’s traveller. Batemans Bay has long been a destination favoured by Australian holidaymakers thanks to an abundance of beautiful beaches, natural beauty and tourism attractions,” Mr Robinson said in the press release.

Batemans Bay is a popular holiday destination for people from Canberra because it’s the closest seaside town to the Australian Capital Territory.

And it’s also popular with Sydney-siders because it’s the key stop for people driving along the coastal route between Sydney and Melbourne.

Dimitri Nikias, Director of Nikias Diamond Property Developments Pty Ltd said the resort would be a boost for tourism.

“We believe tourism in Batemans Bay will benefit from this development, particularly considering it will feature the globally known Ramada name,” Mr Nikias said in the statement.

Operating throughout South East Asia and the Pacific Rim, Wyndham Hotel Group has more than 120 hotels operating under its bands including Ramada, Ramada Encore, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Wyndham Grand.
