Melbourne duo reveal Tinder-like burger review app

First launched in 2014, burger review app, Burgerhead has now been updated to include Tinder-like features, with its founders, Aaron Rocca and James Collins planning to create Australia’s largest burger appreciation community by helping find burgers nearest to you.

Available cost free, Burgerhead now includes optimisation for the latest iOS, updated and improved UX and a streamlined venue uploading process. In redesigning its interface for a user-friendly experience, Burgerhead offers the public an innovative platform to review burgers nationwide.

The review process for burger lovers is simple. Once a profile is created, you’re good to go. Locate the preferred venue to then rate your feed out of five burgers. Finally, evaluate the three vital elements that can make or break a burger – the patty, sauce and bun. In jotting down your reviews, the rest of Australia will have an educated guide on where to hunt down our country’s best burgers.

“For us it’s all about positive reinforcement. Encouraging people to be honest and fair when reviewing really just taps into our mission. We also want to ensure that the venues aren’t tarnished by ‘negative for the sake of being negative’ type reviews. That’s something our admin team will be flagging, constructive criticism is the main thing we’re trying to push here”, says Rocca.

Burgerhead’s initial launch in 2014 was well received, gaining over 6,000 users in its first 6 months. “When we first launched the app the response was overwhelming. We were all working full time, AJ in advertising and hospitality, and myself in Engineering. Managing the app was in all seriousness, nothing what we expected,” says Collins.

With the large hype around Burgerhead, the pair saw an opportunity to empower both venues and users by putting something useful and purposeful in their hands. After some consultation, the decision to re-launch the app in 2016 was a no-brainer.

By improving Burgerhead, the pair hopes to bring together the huge burger community dispersed all over Australia. “Helping others seeks out those unforgettable burger experiences is the main drive behind all of the hard work,” says Collins.

Among other developments, Collins and Rocca are currently working on collaboration projects with some of Australia’s top food delivery services. In allowing burger lovers the knowledge of exactly who can bring them that essential dinner or late night patty, things at Burgerhead just keep getting better
