Tripaddvisor expands instant booking service to Australia

by Leon Gettler

The world’s largest travel site Tripadvisor has extended its hotels booking service into nine English speaking countries including Australia.

The service is also being expanded into Canada, India, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and South Africa, allowing people to book their accommodation from the computer or mobile.

It’s all part of the company’s global roll out this year.

Following the launch of instant booking in the US and UK, Tripadvisor now has services covering 11 countries, working with 8 out of the top 10 hotel brands.

“We’re excited to help even more travellers around the world conveniently plan and book the perfect trip on our site as we rollout instant booking to more global markets,” said Stephen Kaufer, president and CEO of TripAdvisor. “The momentum we’re building is remarkable and we look forward to continuing our expansion throughout 2016 with the help of our trusted partners.”

The rollout has been accelerated thanks to Tripadvisor’s partnership with Priceline Group, and integration of its Booking.com inventory, allowing it to build on its network of global property listings, localized content and provision of quality customer care.
