Fast food chain Jollibee plans to open stores in Australia by 2017 serving ‘Americanised Filipino food’

JOLLIBEE has been called Asia’s answer to McDonald’s and now the Filipino fast food giant is bringing its strange menu down under.

The menu has been described as Americanised Filipino food, offering such things as breakfast steaks and hotdogs, tuna pies and a burger called the Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Yum.

Jollibee bosses made the announcement at the 17th Asia Pacific Retailers Convention and Exhibition last week.

“Currently, we are present in two (continents), and in the next two years we will see Jollibee in four continents,” Dennis Flores said.

“We are doing our best to open our first stores in the UK and Italy next year, and soon in Australia and Japan. We will continue our journey with Jollibee as a truly global brand.”

Jollibee has more than 1000 outlets, making them one of Asia’s largest restaurant companies.

The first Australian store is expected to open in 2017.
