Amadeus inks deal with The Hotel Network to expand Australia & New Zealand hotel content

Amadeus has further strengthened its hotel offering following an agreement with one of Australia’s accommodation brokers, The Hotel Network, to provide travel agencies with greater access to independent, non-metropolitan and remote accommodation hotel content. This agreement forms part of Amadeus’ new and enhanced hotel offer in the Pacific that is intended to offer a significant efficiency boost to travel agencies. The Hotel Network content is now available to Amadeus-connected travel agencies, stated a release.

Powered by Amadeus LinkHotel, The Hotel Network will be connecting more than 250 Australian and New Zealand properties to the GDS for the first time, making them available to Amadeus-connected online and offline travel agents, TMCs, and corporate and government customers.

Nick Brooke, CEO, The Hotel Network, said, “The Hotel Network has an excellent reputation for partnering with hotels to connect them with the right customers. Amadeus is an important partner for us, providing regional Australian and New Zealand properties with cost effective access to the global travel agency network, opening up a sales channel not previously available to them.”

Tony Carter, MD, Amadeus IT Pacific, noted that the agreement will also benefit the broader travel industry, providing easy access to difficult-to-reach hotel content from Australia and New Zealand. “It hasn’t always been easy for travel agencies and corporations to book more ‘off the beaten track’ hotel properties. Traditionally, they would need to call or email to make a booking, which isn’t an efficient use of their time. Our agreement with The Hotel Network makes life easier for the travel industry, allowing hotel properties to reach more travellers, and our travel agencies to service their customers better.” Carter added.
